I\u2019m going to be continuing that tradition, but this year, I\u2019m going to add another layer of weird anxiety to everything: I\u2019m going to mostly<\/i> be streaming those four games.<\/p>\n Why \u201cmostly?\u201d Well, there\u2019s potentially a week where I\u2019ll have family over, so I\u2019ll be able to play, but not be able to stream.<\/p>\n If you want to tune in, you can visit the stream here<\/a>.\u00a0 [That’s https:\/\/www.twitch.tv\/lostwolfe<\/a>]<\/p>\n The schedule I’m going to try<\/em> to keep to will run as follows:<\/p>\n Well, that\u2019s a good question.<\/p>\n I\u2019m going to be rolling a dice to see which game I start with, but in alphabetical order, this year, I want to try:<\/p>\n Eastshade<\/strong><\/p>\n You do this by \u2013 essentially \u2013 taking screenshots of the world around you. Those screenshots, in turn, become little paintings, which you sell to people to make your way through the little island you\u2019re on.<\/p>\n It sounds gentle and a little esoteric and I\u2019m absolutely all for that.<\/p>\n Epistory<\/strong><\/p>\n What attracts me, specifically to Epistory is the very \u2013 again \u2013 gentle nature of the tale.<\/p>\n In it, you\u2019re a writer and you\u2019re blocked. So you go to your muse for help. Your muse sets up a kind of fantasy land that represents the block you\u2019re experiencing and in you go.<\/p>\n You \u201cclear\u201d areas of your block by typing things. So, for example, there might be a tree in your way and you may need to cut it down to proceed. To cut \u2013 or anything, really, you need to spell out a word that the game will drop onto the landscape. Say, in our case, the word literally was<\/i> tree. Well, once you typed that in, the game does the rest and now you can go through the new path that opened up.<\/p>\n There\u2019s also some RPG aspects to it and that seems quite up my alley.<\/p>\nWhat I intend to do<\/h1>\n

<\/a>Your mom visited Eastshade once upon a time and she has some memories of the place. You decide to honor her legacy by visiting it. The thing is, you\u2019re not your mom. You\u2019re an artist. <\/a>I very much enjoy games with different interfaces \u2013 in the case of this specific game, your interface is your whole keyboard, since you have to type words to defend yourself against other people. I\u2019ve been curious about this game \u2013 and this style of interface \u2013 for a while now and have fallen into a couple of other games just like it [Letter Quest comes to mind, for example.]<\/p>\n
